At Blackhall Primary school, our belief is that all children have the right to become confident, resilient and independent life-long learners. We have high expectations, promote excellent standards of behaviour and are committed to ensuring that all our children achieve their potential.
Our school curriculum has been carefully developed to meet the needs of the children at Blackhall Primary School. We recognise our duty to cover the statutory curriculum elements as defined in the National Curriculum and the Locally Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education. Alongside this, we have considered our local community, our school vision and core values to ensure we offer a curriculum which engages, excites and develops the whole child.
Our ‘Curriculum’ is all the planned activities that are organised in order to promote learning, personal growth and development. It includes not only the formal requirements of the National Curriculum, but also the range of additional opportunities that the school organises in order to enrich the experiences of our children. Our curriculum also includes the social aspects that are essential for life-long learning.
Throughout the school, our classes work co-operatively to ensure appropriate curriculum coverage within the context of both single and mixed age classes. Staff plan together and both teachers and teaching assistants are actively involved in the delivery of lessons and the assessment of children’s progress.
We have carefully considered the Intent, Implementation and Impact of our curriculum. For more information, please read the following document.
