Our SEN Provision

Blackhall Primary is a mainstream school that provides education for children aged 2-11. We are committed to meeting the needs of all children, including those with SEND, through inclusive teaching and attitudes. 

At Blackhall Primary we support children with a variety of differing special educational needs and we pride ourselves on being a highly inclusive school with an ethos which encourages and celebrates diversity and difference.

There are four broad areas of special educational need in the SEND Code of Practice, these are: 

 

Cognition and Learning

This includes children with Specific Learning Difficulties, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.

 

Communication and Interaction

This area of need includes children with Autism Spectrum Condition and those with Speech, Language and Communication Needs.

 

Social, Emotional and Mental Health

This includes any pupils who have an emotional, social or mental health need that is impacting on their ability to learn.

 

Sensory and Physical

This area includes children with hearing impairment, visual impairment, multi-sensory impairment and physical difficulties.
