How we evaluate the effectiveness of SEN Provision

We continuously ensure the provision has a positive impact on the outcomes for all of our children/young people.

Evaluating Provision

How do we evaluate the effectiveness of provision for pupils with SEND?

  • Review progress in SLT meetings and discussing next steps
  • Discuss and share ideas in staff meetings to ensure up to date research and policy is in place.
  • Reviewing children’s individual progress towards their goals at regular intervals, as a minimum every term
  • Reviewing the impact of interventions at regular intervals
  • Asking our children if they feel the adjustment or intervention is helpful and makes a difference.
  • Monitoring by the Head Teacher, Deputy Head Teacher and SENDCO (e.g. lesson observations, book scrutiny and learning walks)
  • Regularly updating targets and measuring progress
  • Holding termly reviews with parents for children who are on Education Health and Care Plans and SEND Support Plans
  • Holding annual reviews for children with Education Health Care Plans
  • Progress and evaluation is reported to the Governor with responsibility for SEND
  • Termly SEND reports to the Governing Body
  • SEND Information Report posted on the website
  • Performance management
  • Pupil progress meetings
